EDGE Summit 1 – Day 1

Trista and I are in Colorado Springs, Colorado until June 28th at The Navigators headquarters (Glen Eyrie) to begin our EDGE Corps experience!  We will have 10 days or training here in this beautiful place.  We would love to keep you in the loop so hopefully we will get out a quick synopsis of each day with our schedule so you understand more of what we are doing.  Enjoy!

Check in and Registration    1:00 – 4:00pm

We arrived to Glen Eyrie and got checked in just in time to go eat lunch at Chick-Fil-A (best fast food restaurant in the world)!  They don’t have any stores in Cedar Falls so we jumped at the opportunity to eat there for lunch!

Afterwards we proceeded to go to the Hyatt Place and check into our hotel rooms.  There are a few couples that have to stay there the first 6 nights because there isn’t room at The Glen 😦 But it is really nice so we aren’t really that sad at all!

Nav Vision    4:00-6:00pm

We went back to The Glen and met all the EDGE Corps staff that we will hear a lot from these next 10 days. We had some time to pray through some of God’s promises.  We went through The Navigators calling statement.  Jim Leube discussed with us how God uses regular, ordinary people time and time again: David, Jesus’ parents, discples, Moses, etc…  He also reminded us that our competency comes from Christ and that takes all of the pressure off of us (2 Cor 3:6).  Oh, and got a tour of the castle!

Dinner    6:00-7:00pm

We at dinner with Jim and Beth Leube along with David and Beth Weidenbacher!  It was such a blessing to talk with them.  Jim is over Collegiate Navigators and is a phenomenal leader and man of God.

Building Relationships Workshop    7:00 – 9:00pm

Beth Leube lead us through the conversation stack and helped equip/prepare us to build relationships with people as we go onto the college campuses!
