Life with Twins
On Sunday my little twins will be one year old. ONE YEAR OLD.
If you know anything about having twins, or kids in general, it is that one year birthdays mean very little to the kid(s) and a lot to the parents.
Personally, we are not too big into birthdays at this age. But when you have twins, it is time to parrrrrtay. Forget the cake, someone give us a big medal or something. Actually I don’t even care about the medal. Someone just watch my kids so we can take a nap. That’s better 🙂
Surviving a year with twins has been one of the hardest things I have ever done. Trista and I feel like we just went through a war together and we came out on the other end changed people. God has sanctified us quite a bit!
Seriously though, it has been HARD. It is all my sweet wife can do to keep up with the laundry, change 1 million diapers every day, pick up toys, and put food on the table (or trays). Never mind buying the food, cleaning dishes, parenting our oldest, spending quality time together, abiding in Jesus, etc….
As hard as it has been and as the 365th day gets closer, our kids get cuter and more joyful every moment. I can’t help but smile and thank God for blessing us with these little guys. Life without them seems so boring now. I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Here’s to you Brody and Corbyn. My favorite twins in the whole world. I love you so much and am so grateful to be your father. Now hurry up and start walking so we can start throwing a football together!
