So, therefore, whoever does not renounce all he has cannot be my disciple

Jesus came to seek and to save the lost. Salvation for us is free, but here we see discipleship is costly.

In America I feel so many things come before Jesus for too many believers. We are dependent on so many things for happiness and comfort. Meanwhile being a Christian doesn’t really cost us anything.

And yet we must be willing to give all of it up to follow Jesus and be his disciple. To renounce it all.

What does it cost you to be a christian? What are you willing to give up to follow Jesus?

These are tough questions I’m going to be praying over for the Spirit to convict me on and I would encourage anyone else reading this to do the same.
