LUKE 18:29, 30

And he said to them, “Truly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or wife or brothers or parents or children, for the sake of the kingdom of God, who will not receive many times more in this time, and in the age to come eternal life.”

I just read Luke 16-18 and these verses stuck out to me.

There is so little we need to sacrifice in America for the sake of the Kingdom. It should cost us so much more but it’s easy to try to have both. To love your life and the Kingdom.

This stands in stark contrast to the life of Jesus who sacrificed so much not only to come in human form but to live in obedience to the point of death on the cross.

Jesus, help us to live sacrificially leveraging everything for you. Help us to end our love affair with this world because we love you more. And help us to see in the end how worth it this will be!
