Midwest, Here We Come

If you haven’t heard yet we are moving to Manhattan, Kansas on May 31st with The Navigators! After months of praying and seeking God where he would have us go next, we settled on Manhattan. We are really excited about this and feel God leading for a couple of reasons…

Close to Family

Manhattan is only 4-6 hours from our parents and with our 4th child coming in August (right when the semester will start!) we really need to be closer to them for help. This was a huge factor and considering how hard the last 1.5 years has been, we placed a large value on ending up closer to parents.

Great Staff

There is an established staff team with some new EDGErs being added. The campus directors have been doing college ministry for a long time and have led the KSU Nav ministry for 7 years. It will be a great place for us to adjust to as our family continues to grow. I’m grateful for their desire to see staff go at a healthy pace and not run them into the ground.

Great Opportunity

Now that I will have completed Staff in Training with The Navigators I will be moving up to a Nav Rep. A staff person becomes a Nav Rep when they have completed their primary training with The Navigators and meets the “Nav Rep Profile”. There will be a commissioning service at some point before we move (and we will qualify for Ministers Housing Allowance!) which will be a neat celebration of God’s grace and goodness to me while recognizing my own hard work over the last 4.5 years.

The plan for us is to move to Manhattan and after a year or two of adjusting to the city, a bigger family, and a new ministry to take over as the Campus Director. It is a neat opportunity that I humbly look forward to and by God’s grace anticipate awesome things to happen!

Although we have loved our time in Fort Collins, we are really looking forward to Manhattan for these reasons. Our house here feels smaller and smaller each day so a larger, cheaper house is also very exciting to us. We can’t wait to get settled in, get to know the town, and start meeting students as the fall semester rolls around while our 4th baby has also joined us! It will be a whirlwind of change but God has clearly led us in this direction and we know he will be with us each step of the way.
